Wellbeing Writing Workshop

I would like to thank all of my readers for your continued support in reading my work.
I have now started a well-being writing workshop within the central library in Coventry city centre.
The workshop is the meeting of like minded people who enjoy the creative expression of writing in all its forms.
It has been created to bring motivation and encouragement to individuals who may already be writing, for individuals just starting to explore themselves through writing or for those already published who would like to share their experiences.
All Welcome and if you wish to share your own work the opportunity is there to recite your work to an audience.

Off To Skies Of Blue Poem

Sitting on my window ledge, looking out at view
Grasses Green are covering, skies are solid Blue
Trees are dotted all around, flowers also free
Looking at this perfect view, perfection here with me

Then a sight does come to eyes, colours on display
Two wings fluttering, outside pane, Blues and Emeralds lay
Then the flutter it does stop, rests gently on the ledge
Peacefulness does come with this, I’ll carry on the rest

We sit and join for hours, a pane of glass divides
My tiny fingers do reach up, presses against life
Both together, breaths in sync, not one of us does move
My time here with my butterfly, keeps the peace, a groove

Then a movement does occur, a tiny flap, then two
Up it goes my special friend, off to skies of Blue
What I’ve learnt from this all, time it did stand still
Time spent here in nature, brings the perfect peace

My Words With God Poem

Every time my eyes do wake, I always speak with God
I ask him place a light of white, around all those I love
I also ask him do the same, for all who walk this earth
Keep all safe, protected, I trust in God’s own words

I ask his darling Angels, to also walk with us
I ask them guide our precious life, watch all that we do
I ask them watch our precious ones, keep them safe and sound
I ask them give us strength and hope, wrap their wings around

I ask our Guardian Angels so, to reassure us every day
Every time we say a prayer, send them straight away
Standing close beside us, always hold our hand
I trust in Gurdian Angels, forever our best friends

The Wings Upon Your Back Poem

I hear within the distance, my name is calling so
Unsure of where the words do flow, I walk to say hello
I walk for many minutes, a white light does meet me
I hear the voice again calling, shouting out to me

I keep my steps a walking, but the owner, voice not found
I even stop my walking, no noise, not even sound
I hear again in distance, my name it sounds so sweet
I even hear a harp playing, echoed by the trees

My mind now puzzled by it all, but further I do walk
I’m following the perfect voice, calling name with love
I think I may have met it so, no one is there to see
The voice is so enticing, I keep on following

My walk now turned to hour, no one as shown to me
Then I see a tree in front, white blossoms do sport thee
Underneath I settle down, softly on the ground
Then I hear the voice again, echoed all around

Sitting still I sit in hope, awaiting to meet thee
The voice within the treetops, now whispering to me
Don’t worry, now the voice does speak, your life it is on track
If in doubt, just open up, the wings upon your back

I’m Walking Down An Open Road Poem

I’m walking down an open road, unsure of where to go
I’m all abit confused right now, will this path help me grow
I look to right and then to left, I’m even looking back
But my feet stay,  just where they are, forward only track

On I go and persevere, I see a wall of high
I’m standing looking up at it, my heart it heaves a sigh
I can’t go through, under not, over I must go
Inside my nerves are rattling, inside is fear and doom

Sweat now forming on my brow, my feet, they start to move
Up I go still trembling, unsure of what to do
Do I drop now to the floor, turn back and run away
This to me no option, I’ve come such a long way

On and on, half way I meet, my need to carry on
Nearly there, just one more step, the top now there on show
Here now goes, my final step, settled now on top
In I breathe, to take in view, higher perspective now I’ve got

From top of wall, my view now clear, an open road for me
Down I jump and see a door, waiting there for me
Up I go and turn the knob, inwards I do go
Another stage to grow in life, is waiting there I know

My Words Have Brought You Hope Poem

I’m sitting here just thinking, my mind the words do flow
Stories now are forming, create a world of glow
Every word it does join up, create another piece
I hope my words bring comfort, in everything you read

I hope I bring you journey, worlds we’ve travelled so
I’ve wrote about the skies above, the earth we walk below
I’ve asked you join my mountain top, in waters we have swam
I’ve even held your hand so tight, if you’ve need a helping hand

I’ve shared with you my Angels, I’ve sent my love to heal
I’ve even shared my stories, life can hurt, it’s real
I’ve shared with you my steps I’ve walked, memories as a child
I’ve even had you all in prayer, bless the life your living

My Adventures As A Child Poem

When I was a child so small, everything to see
Everything adventure, climbing house in tree
Everything so magnified, everything so magic
Life I saw as child, beautiful and free

Noise in head had not emerged, carefree is what I felt
Everything was so much fun, conckers pick of ground
Chasing rabbits, grasses green, jumping high, catch fly
Watching how the wings do fly, of birds now flying high

Running sands, toes dipping, laughing, waves do curl
Sitting making shapes and names, fingers sand they curl
Jumping over haystacks, rolling down the hills
Picnics in the garden, lemonade in store

Families cramped in little cars, journeys up ahead
Fairground rides, a screaming, handstands on my head
Jumping through the puddles, feet now soaking wet
Making men from snow outside, carrots, nose I get

I could go on for hours, a child such fun I had
Grown up I feel much heavier, worries I now dread
If only for a second, my inner child does show
I’ll play within the bluebells, forgetting all my woes

Today I’m Standing Tall Poem

Sitting on a mountain high, the wind my hair does blow
Looking into skies of blue, cloud formations show
Nothing around for miles, below all things so small
Sitting on my mountain top, myself now feeling tall

My life not easy, never smooth, I existed no one knew
I walked around so lonely, Unsure of what to do
Everything a whirlwind, time it never stopped
But sitting on my mountain, my lessons brought this lot

Yes life it was so daunting, sometimes my feet felt stuck
But on I climbed each passing day, never giving up
Fight I did, I would not stop, whatever life dealt me
I found the courage deep inside, to find the real me

Sitting on my mountain top, inside I’m feeling proud
Looking at my life right now, feeling all around
Breathing now, I take in slow, thankful for it all
Glad I never gave up, today I’m standing tall

Show Others You Are There Poem

Roaming through our many streets, sometimes I do nod
Sometimes my hand sends a wave, someone who knows not
Sometimes I will show a smile, words hello I speak
I even say some words need hear, those upon the streets

Kindness it does cost nothing, time consumes it don’t
All it takes is what’s in heart, shows others who you meet
Hope you give now freely, makes the day now of another
It may be someone you don’t know, could even be your mother

It doesn’t matter who it is, but it means so much to them
Your kindness does move mountains, helps them find their strength
Tears dry, heartache stops, you show now you do care
Next time you are out walking, show others you are there

Wishing Our Lives Away Poem

Waking nice and early, alarm clock ringing so
Up I jump, to face the day, a bus to catch or two
Gulping down my breakfast, coffee drunk, still hot
Make up placed upon my face, no hair time, just a bun

Looking at my brown strapped watch, satchel over back
I’m running now to catch my bus, my mind is stressing now
On the bus I check the time, wishing not be late
Thinking bout my busy day, lying just ahead

In to work I do go, the phone already rings
Computer open, start my work, another pile it brings
Lunch time near, my tummy noise, I’m ready for my break
Just for 5, I catch my breath, short in peace It makes

Afternoon, the hours pass, my brain no time to think
No time to pause, to take a pew, my brain now hurting
Checking on the time on watch, day it nearly ends
Alarm goes off, it’s time to leave, to catch my bus again

Two hours commute, traffic stuck, I’m conscious of the time
Home I get to start again, a meal prepare or two
No time there still to stop in tracks, washing up to do
I’m checking on the time again, still so much to do

Watch shows 10, must go to bed, before my my day again
My mind still buzzing from all rush, I’m anxious, not to say
I do the thing I know will help, I meditate, hands clasp
Seeing all my heavy pass, my mind is perfect now

Suppose what I am trying to say, your life works this way too
Looking at the time each day, as task is brought to you
Rushing so from place to place, no room to feel such peace
But sadness comes in all of this, wish life away, no ease

Each Means All Poem

Every breeze that passes by, its softness touches face
Every scent of flower grows, memories do replace
Every trickle of waters pass, silence noise in mind
Every animal who crosses path, insects that do hide

Every ray of sunshine, warmth radiating through
Every beach of golden sand, inviting all of you
Every rock face there to climb, top you do embrace
Every hillside, full of green, paves a lazy day

Every tree, just from a seed, a hundred years of growth
Every hive a buzzing, honey made a comb
Every person who does breath, a little dot of you
Each we are connected, few examples here for you

Every single second, every single breath

Everything is changing, your future world awaits

Every single step now take, instead of old, now new

Bless the moment of each breath, say hello to you

Grateful for the life you have, others too you love

Thank your father up above, for your things of good

Take each thing as things of blessed, appreciate all you have

See your life as moving on, lessons to be had

Lessons they are precious, they show your strength inside 

Courage also presents itself, guides you to the light

Steps you take, walls you climb, barriers breaking down

Every breath your taking now, shows your path surrounds

In The Middle Of Nothing Poem

I sit within the middle of floor, the centre where I’m knelt
My mind now full of nothing, each breath is so relaxed
My eyes now shut, my lashes lay, I feel my tired eyes
Melt within the warmth of peace, worries passing by

My mind not thinking troubled times, no fear consumes my soul
I’m ready now too feel release, of ego taking hold
I’ve opened up my beating heart, no pain inside is felt
Only love so full of light, waiting to shine now

Nothing now is stopping, from ideas, of popping new
Nothing to cloud judgement, in decisions I may choose
Everything so focused, everything so clear
Instead of noise distracting me, my visions now are near

I’m seeing life, all things hope, from eyes of different view
Welcoming the visions, making dreams come true
Path ahead is clearly seen, no barrier, break down
No more a mountain there to climb, steps my journey found

My strength Gives Others Hope Poem

I look around my world today, everything confuse
I’m taking steps of new each day, fear my body choose
I’m trying to keep my head up, focus much as can
But every day, even though I’m scared, I know my steps will tell

I chose a different path to take, one I’ve never stepped
A different thing to learn each day, helping human race
Inside my stomach somersaults, a little dread I feel
But courage I have found inside, to help others heal

This journey yes is part of mine, the plan ahead for me
Is showing others of my strength, to see their trials real
My empathy there on display, my ear for them a rock
So for now, I must overcome, to help other lives take stock

I know myself not let them down, rely on me they do
To give them hope in times of dark, to help them make it through
Steps of change I show to them, but steps on own must take
Realising now their own true strength, each step, their courage makes
