Looking back as a child so small, great memories I do have
Sunday mornings, radio, family baking bread
Sunday roast a cooking, Mother stirring mix
Yorkshire puddings she creates, from her batter mix

Smelling the aroma, of custard cooling down
To add to birds trifle, one to share around
Jar of paste, usually beef, sandwiches, made for tea
Wrapped in cling film, later eat, watch muppets as a treat

Sunday bath times, always came, nails checked are short
Hair now washed, skin smells of soap, pyjamas, slippers sport
Heart to Heart now on TV, this series I did love
Bedtime now is nearing, my Mother chooses book

Up to wooden hill she says, as I clamber into bed
No duvet there, just blankets thick, resembling one of checks
Settling down, my pillow plush, I listen to words she says
A kiss on head, the light turned off, now dreamland there instead

Wrapped within the bathing, cocoon skin, envelopes me
I’m safe, protected and kept warm, hibernating
I’m covered now from head to toe, in this silken cloth
Waiting for the day to come, when it does fall off

Waiting, it may be just days, or many years to come
I don’t know, when reborn again, trusting in my God
For now I feel all tightly snug, as healing I must do

Driving along a road outstretched, my engine I turn off
Looking at the reddened sky, clouds resembling froth

Looking out of window, the view of life so small

My home is made of concrete bricks, it’s structure is so strong
Yours may be a wooden shack, a boat upon the sea
A tent in ground may keep you warm, an igloo made of ice
A caravan, of static sense, a balloon within the sky

Yours may be a hammock, swinging side to side
A lodge within the forests, a tree house hanging high
A submarine, swims oceans blue, a tepee out of sight
We all expect to have a roof, keeping warmth and light

Some don’t have a single brick, a single piece of wood

I’m kneeling on my carpeted floor, my tears they start to flow
My heart it does feel heavy, droplets from my nose

On this Sunday morning, the air a little crisp
Deciding now to have a walk, to feel the earth beneath
Pulling on my thickened coat, hat caressing head
Out I go to start my walk, pocket full of bread

Out my gate I meet the path, know where I’m going to
I stop sometimes to see the view, bright colours through and through
On I go to meet the grass, over feet now step
To the lakeside I now join, the birds lay up ahead

Out my pocket comes stale bread, I break in pieces so
Ducks and swans now by my feet, my hands they start to throw

Nervous, looking all about, it takes piece of present
On it chomps, like it’s first meal, it then stares straight at me

Laying in my bed awake, my mind is travelling so
I wonder where my feet will walk, what will nature show
My duvet still tight round my neck, I’m huddled in the warm
Outside I know, I must explore, there’s beauty to adore

Ten more minutes I do take, out one leg does pop
Climating from the warmth I’ve had, to wooden planks on floor
Here I go another leg, just swing yourself around
Sitting now on edge of bed, I drape my dressing gown

Up like shot, I run to bathroom, on the hot tap goes
Steam now filling air with warmth, it starts to warm my nose
Hands in water splash my face, my heated towel does dab

Jeans and jumper, woolly socks, boots covering my feet

Out of door, I take my steps, feel free to follow me

Out my gate, down the lane, a splodge I make or two
Then my feet me grasslands, covered now in dew
Over now my boots do tread, the ground it feels like sponge
It is delight to breath crisp air, take in perfect view

In the distance, short space to go, I see a mound of height
I know my boots will make the climb, the top I have in sight

As I do stand up, shaky legs at first
I wander to the edge again, transparent coming through
My mind it starts to wander, my heart it flutters too
Will it be today I think, I manage to break through

I share with you my wonder, it is my own cocoon
I’m high up in the air right now, my cocoon hangs like a balloon
I’ve been here many years, all I do is view
I know one day I have to break, then out my wings of two

Nearer to the edge I take, it only needs one push
My little hand a trembling, my cheeks a rosy blush
In my breath goes deeper, then ever have before

Then a feeling of pure trust, captivates all me
Then I feel a stretch on back, my two wings now are spread

I wade within the muddy grounds, a golden beach soft through

I stand with sunlight beaming down, hailstones as big as balls
I lay and watch the night sky, a twinkle star much more
I place my hands together, make a little wish
I’m sitting boarded on a plane, abyss my eyes do meet

I’m sitting, hair a flowing, sports car minus the roof
I’m sitting on a wooden bench, watching all of you
I run along with lions, swim in dolphins land
I’m standing in maternity ward, watching new born now

I could go on forever, the list is ever long
I could share so many stories, our world creates a song
I could share with you my memories, the ones that touched my heart
All the things I’ve felt within my life, your heart as been touched too

I walk around, I question life, I’m sure you do this too
I stop and think, what’s all about, what make us humans do
I think about our brains in head, that never do shut off
It’s hard to be in stillness, our dreams do get forgot

Why I say, when all is there, our answers we do need
Do we not go and spend our time, with our souls beneath
Why in life do we live as many, when we really are a whole
We complicate our life so much, dividing is what we do

We’ve all create so many aspects, one we call ourselves
We’ve split ourself into many pieces, confusion now does last
We are ourselves as a jigsaw, unfolding many times
Unsure now how we put these back, ourself now walking blind

I’ve thought about this long and hard, same answer comes to me
You only have to stop in life, believe what’s underneath
Take illusions laid on top, see them all as lies
Then you’ll uncover who you are, your soul is your true life

Waking up I felt still dream, rubbing of my eyes
I stop my blinks and look ahead, a beauty there in sight
A silhouette of white light, grand as grand can be
An Angel sharing life with me, our breaths are in pure sync

My Angel then turned to me, communicate, no words

Standing there before me, a structure solid so
I push and push, no movement, no forward I do go
My hands in head do scratch my scalp, confused just what to do
Looking up, it comes to me, over I must go

Myself feeling small, where do I make a start
I take a breath to clear my mind, my message come to heart
Your feet will carry you to top, once start, no going back
So prepare I do, my first step took, I’m moving off the ground

Up I climb, myself in fear, my body trembles so
Each step I move, I’m hanging on, willing don’t let go

Courage, strength and loads of faith, belief I could climb so

Skipping down the winding lane, jumping over brooks
Playing in the fields, hopping with the hares
Giggles can be heard for miles, my life, my light I share

Dungarees of blue denim, sporting t shirt white
Pumps with Dunlop stamped on sides, coloured red of stripes
Hair in bunches, bobbles pink, floating side to side
How I love the great outdoor, living life alright

Hours passed, so much fun, the sun is setting so
I make my way back home again, my heart is all a glow

Looking over fields there lay, trees are dotted round

I look at life as journeys, many paths along we meet
We walk with ones we know so well, others on the street
We wander into oblivion, unaware what others carry
We’re re so inside our head of ours, our own turmoil of scary

We see others who are smiling, we wish them happiness
We hope inside their smile reflects, same story in their head
Others they look pale, dark rings underneath their eyes
