I Am Your Friend Poem

I remember of a memory small, my first day, I join school
Standing there before great gates, fear it comes now more
My mother’s hand, I’m squeezing tight, never to let go
But her hand it gently, unclasps mine, my tears they start to brew

My teacher joins to meet us, her perfume, memory keeps
One that smells of lavender, of spectacles, nose keeps
Her hair is one of curly, brown skirt, her ankles drape
My mind it pictures giant now, my mother now, she takes

Inside I am a quivering, to match my bottom lip
Inside the hallway I now walk, my feet, I stand, top, tip
I’m trying to prolong the agony, of classroom I will meet
All the other children, my eyes they now do meet

Children there, some of tall, some there just a dot
Some of them are wailing, my tears I’ve now forgot
I have a voice within me, keep inside your strength
So you can show the others there, I’ll help, I am your friend

Love, light and healing energies too you all
