I see life as a life long test, new things we learn each day
Our trials change as one is learnt, another on its way
Our bodies, minds and our souls, are evolving all the time
Sometimes we're unaware of this, another change becomes your world
God knows what we have asked for and what we wish to learn
So our life he has planned for us, so we can walk in truth
He has also placed within us, a great light to lead the way
But he also gave us darkness, so we can face our trials each day
You see our light it brings great strength, new insight it is found
The darkness also has its purpose, it helps us find God again
Each one is carefully guided, to enter our lives when needed so
God will place both before us, to help our lives to grow
You see when you live in the dark, Gods name you do shout out
But when you live within the light, Gods love you have now found
There is no difference in them both, each one we need our Lord
But God knows what our life will need, so he plans it for our walk
