I’m going back to a place, a place with so many smiles
I’m going back to my 1970’s living room, Black and White Tv
Flared trousers, high neck jumpers, a hair cut, created by your Mother
Looking forward to Sandwiches, paste or jam, triangles cut, White plate
Tv shows simple, mesmerising, playing board games, chasing your siblings
No technology, no distractions, the doors and windows always open, free
The seasons calling out, come shine, the fields, conker picking, picnics, build dens
The spring, collect leaves, create life on paper, welcome the new, fresh
The Autumn, this felt in between, the old fashioned gas fire, switched on
No need for comfy chairs, a row of siblings, on tummy lay, watching Tv
Beds, a few in a room, made the way your Grandmothers make
Heavy blankets, comfort, awakened by the milk float, early morn
The pop man every Thursday, Fish and chip night, local pub discos
The Winter, a treat with snow, Wellington boots collected from under the stairs
The pantries full of Porridge, mincemeat, ready to join the shortcrust pastry
I loved this time, the simplicity, the time spent with families, communities
Love, light and healing energies too you all
