My Son Poem

I held within my tiny arms, someone perfect so
Eyes of blue, lashes thick, pale skin, soft as snow
Fluffy hair, perfect white, red lips, a smile on show
The day my father sent to me, my son, to help him grow

Watching, as you took first step, snuggled you, when cry
Seeing how you learnt with help, to peddle your first bike
Watching how your mind create, from pictures you create
Listening to how you read your books, counted up to eight

Watching how you started tall, learnt upon your own
Proud of how you walked in life, challenges there shown
Always smiling, giggle so, you touched my very heart
Me and you together, my son we’ll never part

I’ve felt your hand upon me, my shoulder so you do
You helped me to discover, the mum, you always knew
You shared your words of courage, you always spurred me on
Look mum, you have taught me well, I’ll help you carry on

A bond we have, not broken, grows deeper by the day
Everyday we share those words, love you, we do say
I feel so very grateful, memories we do share
My son forever with me, thank God, my heart, placed there

Love, light and healing energies too you all
