I see a light before me poem

I see a light before me, it's brilliance draws me in
I slowly walk towards it, but a long way it does bring
I walk and walk, the light I see, but to reach it doesn't come
So I continue on the path I walk, my light is guiding still

I have walked on still, as the light shines bright, it never starts to dull
I know the light that is there, brings wonderful things to come
I still haven't reached it, but walk on is what I'll do
I know the light is meant for me, it's energy feels true

I continue taking steps, but on my path I now do stop
To reassess how long I've been, guided by the light
I can't look back, as this is gone, still does bring me peace
But to continue walking towards the light, God is found in thee

I will not give up, so on I tread, my hope inside so strong
I'm walking only in the light, my darkness has now gone
The path of light as taught me, that the light is always there
God my father is guiding me, to show me that he's there
