We Meet Half Way

If I took a piece of rope, stretched it far and wide

My hands are holding just one end, the other you hold on

Our worlds are million miles between, but same steps we so do take

Moving forward on our paths, hold tight, our rope not break

We don’t know where we’re walking to, but still we carry on

Trusting in the one called God, our distance still is strong

Many years do pass us by, but our rope we cling on too

Waiting to reach other end, no knowing what finds through

Nearly there, few miles to go, the days are passing by

Our tiny footsteps carry on, our distance now not few

Few more steps, expect to meet, our other end of rope

As we meet, we stand in awe, today we’ve so just meet

God Watches Me As I Sleep

Leaning on my knees, now so, my cloth draped around my legs

Leaning by the side of bed, my head resting on edge

My lashes now curled shut, my head remains in bow

In my mind I choose my words, from heart, I share Lord now

I feel great warmth rise now in me, from toes through to my head

I feel a presence next to me, my hand I hold out, spread

Yes, the presence invisible, to the human eye

God is kneeling beside me, to catch my prayers sent high

Getting up, climb into bed, my quilt placed over me

I know I’m still with God by side, he brings comfort to me

I know I will sleep safe and sound, the warmth inside exists

I feel God sitting next to me, he’ll watch me as I sleep

Writing Now By Candlelight Poem

Writing now by candlelight, my Quill pen, now in hand
Dipping just a little ink, my words flow easy now
My style of quaint, so elegant, a masterpiece creates
Writing in my style of pure, inspiration from God’s way

I let my tiny fingers flow, back and forth they go
Creating words within my book, a title I will show
It reads before, my journey so, throughout the lands of God
Each word so written, healing so, I know you have so got

God I write, intention pure, heal our world today
Please not let so suffering, take all our pain away
I feel your love and light each day, in every word I write
Please let others feel it too, so they can see the light

Hold Out Your Hands Poem

My heart, oh heart, my love is flowing from
I place my two hands close to it, feel my heart beat strong
Love now leaves, it joins now light, both I send to all
Hold out your hands, catch my love, feel soul now of warm

Softly, softly, hear my words, I whisper now in ear
I’m sharing words, that bring you hope, I wipe away your tear
I watch now close, your smile emerge, your eyes they dance so bright
Hold out your hands, capture my words, place in words you write

Light, so light, a feather floats, this is how you feel
You may be walking, steps so light, know now I am near
Your feet still ground, now carry so, lay gently in my arms
Hold out your hands, take hold of mine, I’ll show now God’s home

Dreams, oh dreams, connecting so, with one you so have faith
You meet God by his gates of White, tonight for you he waits
In your dream, you spend much time, in God’s garden, sheer delight

Say Goodbye To Negativity Poem

With each negative thought, comes loss
Our energies are depleted, our self worth forgotten
One thought consumes our day, another day wasted
How can one thought change our perception, our dreams lost

One negative thought, takes away our smiles
Brings tears that wet our face, makes our heart heavy
One thought, how can it hold so much power
How does it decide how we walk our path, our outcome

One positive thought, uses less energy, makes us feel alive
Brings to us a world of light, brings our dreams into our essence
One thought brings us hope, an everlasting happiness
It decides our path, gives us focus, stops us from falling

If we changed our mindset to positive, we give ourselves time to reflect
We choose our own paths with certainty, assurance we are walking bold
Holds us strong in our decisions, mind clear
Positivity will always win, say goodbye to negativity today

My Mind Travels The World Today

Waking up, my duvet thrown, my feet spring out of bed

Washing face, teeth now brushed, my curls tied up on head

Excited tummy, somersaults, today I will adore

Quick grab of croissant, slurp of juice, I head out of my door

Not noticing, my walk a stride, I’m on my merry way

Crossing over fields of Green, jumping Yellow hay

There before, big open space, perimeter, grand old trees

On I walk into the unknown, adventure waits for me

My feet now crossing stretch of land, I see so many things

I spot the light that settles, on tips of leaves, just tinge

I smell flowers of all colours, my tiny tips do trail 

The beauty now before me, I’ll write in book, my tale

Capturing the beauty, I hold onto the view

Smells and touch, my feet sensing, I’ll share this all with you

I hurry home, boots kicked off, out my pen and book

Scribbling away, my pages full, stay here and take a look

Come Hold My Hand

 I take a walk today, unsure of what I’ll see

I go out into the big wide world, hold hands, come join me

We’ll dance within the flowers, swim within the lakes

We’ll meet the many landscapes, breathtaking, awake

Up and down the hills we’ll roll, mountains we will climb

We’ll meet the waterfalls at bottom, find insects that do hide

We’ll wait to see the sunset, meet the stars within the dark

We’ll watch the clouds of fluffy White, in darkness they depart

We’ll stay out until the night does end, watch the sun come up

We’ll notice all the things today, God’s sent from up above

We’ll hold our precious memories, deep within our heart

Holding hands together, today we’ve never part

God He Keeps Me Whole Poem

When a child small, with God I always chose
He’d greet me as my eyes woke up, commute with me to school
He’d join me in the playground, me and my best friend
God joined me so for supper, meet at prayer, nights end

God he is the one I trust, he never lets me down
He’s always listened to words I’ve shared, answers I so found
I knew when I was on wrong path, I felt his hands move me
God he never failed me, he had a plan for me

God leans over, reads my words, I send to you each day
Sometimes I hear him chuckling, when my brain says hey
God tells me not to worry, my words I so will find
God tells me to open up my heart, my love will help all find

Now grown up, well middle aged, I keep God close to me
I’ll trust in him forever, best friends we’ll always be
I trust in challenges overcome, he’ll carry me when fall
It gives me strength, not alone, God he keeps me whole

My Promise To You

If I had one second, one minute, one day, what would I say
I’d wrap my arms around you, say I love you, kiss your face
I’d take your hands, hold tightly, draw you in and hug you tight
As tears roll silently down my cheeks, so thankful, shared your life

I’d look into your eyes once more, so you’ll see the love from me
To show you all within my heart, to thank for everything
You gave me strength to face my days, you fixed the things so wrong
You replaced the worries in my heart, you gave my life best start

We’d sit and chat for hours, into early hours morn
We’d have such fun on holidays, there when my children born
A pillar of strength you always were, rely on I could do
I miss you more than anything, my life is lost without you

You may not pass my home each day, I cannot knock your door
But everyday I think of you, each second heart yearns more
I pray each night, I fall asleep, I meet you in my dreams
I meet you by Red roses, in God’s garden you meet me

It’s here we sit and chat away, hold each hands so tight
I’ve shared with you my troubles, you’ve made all things alright
When I wake, my pillow wet, from tears, I had to leave
But I promise you, I will be back, next night within my dreams

This poem is written In memory of my amazing, beautiful and truly inspiring mother in law Pamela McClelland who taught me that no matter how much or how very little you have in life, to have family you will always be blessed, loved and rich in life.

God And Me Together Poem

I smell God within the flowers, I feel God passing through the trees
I feel God within each blade of Grass, vibrant colours Green
I spot God within the words I write, vocal I so am
I see God in books I read each day, the light I share around

I see God in the eyes of my children, in my parents words of wise
I see God when I am in depths of low, also when climb high
I see God within every bird that flies, each fish that swim past slow
I see God in every stop sign, Green my colour, go

I feel God is near when taking pew, each time I’m sat in church
I feel God with me when tears do fall, if  I’m feeling hurt
I see God so in my smile, ones I do receive
I feel God with me everyday, in him I do believe

God you see is everywhere, he never leaves your side
Alone in life not feel, even feelings hid inside
God knows just what your thinking, what you hold in heart
God is all and everything, never will we part
